It was their capacity to process uncertainty rather than shut it down.

I began my career as a neuroscientist studying neurobehavioral plasticity—how the brain adapts to challenge, disruption, and change. What fascinated me then still shapes my work today: growth rarely comes from what we already understand. It emerges when we are willing to explore what we do not.

My professional life took an unexpected turn when I left the laboratory and stepped into executive leadership roles. Over the next three decades, I led organizations in biomedical research, health regulation, and professional education—often entering fields where I was not the content expert.

Instead of treating that as a disadvantage, I used it as an advantage.

By leading with questions rather than assumptions, we expanded influence, accelerated innovation, and guided organizations through growth, disruption, and transformation.

Along the way, I noticed something important. Some leaders thrive in uncertainty, while others feel trapped by it. The difference is not intelligence, expertise, or confidence. It is their ability to process uncertainty without shutting it down.

That insight led me to develop the Leadership Metabolism™ model—a way of understanding how exceptional leaders convert uncertainty into insight, expanded capability, and decisive forward movement.

Today I work with senior leaders—particularly in science, healthcare, and technical fields—who are navigating complexity, high stakes, and rapid change. My work integrates neuroscience, executive leadership experience, and practical leadership disciplines to help leaders move forward when answers do not yet exist.
